Vietnam's Young Players Are Being Burned Out: When V-League Turns Talent into Victims

In the 88th minute at Hang Day Stadium, 18-year-old Nguyen Van A collapsed. Not from a foul, not from a collision. He was simply exhausted. It was his fifth match in 15 days, and his third consecutive full 90 minutes. The coach stood there, shouting instructions, with no intention of making a substitution. That moment was not an accident. It was a system committing suicide. I have followed Vietnamese football for 7 years, and I have never seen a generation of talent treated so poorly. The shock doesn't come from the goal, but from where we dare not look. V-League 2026 is witnessing an alarming trend: clubs are increasingly dependent on young players. The reason is simple - they are cheap, they are passionate, and they are easy to manage. But what is the cost?
